I was planning to have a hard pressing day today, but I postponed that plan. Instead, I had a rest day. I got cold, nothing serious, I just want it to get out of my system as soon as possible. Regeneration is just as important as proper training. What everyone should aim for is not just improved performance and work capacity, but also reduced regeneration time. I wonder how that can be achieved. Proper nutrition maybe?
Some think that you have to rest for 48 hours after a hard workout. I do not think that is true without exception. Sure, if you want to build muscles, you have to give them time to get built. But if you have a different purpose, for instance, to "increase your work capacity across broad time and modal domains", you might not need to rest that much. Work capacity is not all about muscle mass after all. And it might happen, that muscle cell regeneration takes just less time, then muscle cell building, on the supposition that they are different processes.
On this note, today is the day when I registered for the CrossFit Level One certification course. In two months I will be a CF level 1 trainer. Now, how cool is that! So, let me transfer the blog from now on, to a documentation of my preparation to the CF Level 1 course! I think I might need to adjust my training here and there to this purpose.
